HAWGS vs. DAWGS is a weekly OL/DL event that mixes high level positional training with group and individual competitions. We are unique in that we provide speed, agility, and explosion training combined with position specific skill and technique training, while creating a competitive atmosphere where our athletes get live-action practice and experience.

Training and Development Philosophy

OFFENSIVE LINE - HAWGS

The hardest learning curve on the gridiron is the offensive line position. Its success relies on intelligence, toughness, work ethic, agility, and character. The training seeks to target position-specific development. Offensive lineman must engage in consistent point of attack drills to understand and progress in the performance of the skill set. The objective of Hawgs vs. Dawgs is to provide a climate that fosters fundamentals of pad level, footwork, and hand placement to develop a competitive culture that allocates skill sets at a high level.

DEFENSIVE LINE - DAWGS

Perhaps the best pound-for-pound athletes on the field at any point of the game are your defensive linemen (or Dawgs). The term “Dawg” is associated with defensive linemen because of their perceived role to “hunt down” the quarterback and other offensive players. However, to be a truly great defensive lineman there’s a lot more to the story.
Essential contributing factors in the success of defensive linemen include first step take-off (Getting off the ball), their pad level, the use of their hands, violent hip explosion and flexibility, ability to change direction, footwork (especially in small spaces), primary, secondary, and tertiary pass rush moves, observation and diagnosis of pre-snap and post-snap clues (from offensive players), and opponent scouting.
These factors make-up essential skills and abilities needed to be a truly great defensive lineman. Not every good lineman will possess each and every one of these skills or abilities, but the great ones do. Hawgs versus Dawgs will expose your Dawg to each one and work together with them to reach their highest level of achievement.
